It was like a bit of a side hustle, writing historicals - editing the final one - while writing The Hunting Party on the side. Olivia used Jules's apartment as a spot for her trysts with Will. I felt the beginning was a bit slow and the ending wrapped up rather quickly, but I would recommend it if you'd like a twist ending. I noticed the scene and thought for a few minutes or would be Hannah and Luis but that interaction quickly went sideways so I'd now say definitely not. Honestly upset I wasted a credit on this book. The split time format. It felt to me like the author just kinda didn't know what to do with an extra character. I was like what… wait… did I fall asleep? Thinking about Verify. The plot design was excellent and I was invested in the characters. Took time for me to get into the book-- at times it reminded me of the hunting party which wasn't a great thing. Couple who throw parties for all the neighbors. And when Jules hears Olivia and William arguing, finding out their back history? Julia's younger half-sister. She didn't need any more backstory than just being Charlie's wife and being the only semi sane person at the event. I did kind of predict the a lot of it but it was still very well done. Slow start and could see the ending a mile off. Because Olivia is the only character worth a damn in this entire book.
She is labeled as the plus-one — the wife of Jules' best friend, Charlie, who is an usher in the wedding. She took him to one of her sister's fancy parties to impress him, but instead got drunk and made a fool out of herself, so he ghosted her. I believe the two guests that were going at it were just random guests and completely irrelevant to the overall plot. Elaine Forster Their identity is totally irrelevant to the storyline! Colleen Definitely not Hannah and Luis. Jules thinks about how her father stopped giving her money after he married his new wife, which is why she chose this location.
