What Boost/Vacuum Gauge are you running? A little bit of consideration is essential before handing over your cash for a particular boost gauge. Would the vacuum line to tap into be the same one that the R guys use pictured below? If u ever have the intake manifold off, you see the 3 lines going under it go to the back and meet up with other vacuum lines for egr and scv (butterflies) and other crap. I tapped 3 holes into the m50 manifold and an additional hole into the intercooler piping. If its loose, the turbo boost will be uncontrolled, which could explain symptoms. Once you get it inside the cabin, tee it off again to your boost gauge if so desired.

For the past year or so I've been working on a spare M50 motor for my 1995 BMW 325ic. So why is the intake manifold best, you ask? It looks like a fuel filter but it's not. As the name implies, an electronic boost gauge is fed an electrical signal from a remote pressure sensor.
