I think that's probably an "early adopter" issue that S&W will refine over time. Shield 9 does not still, but that's fine. Mine was terrible when I started. Also, I hadn't shot a live round in over three weeks, so I was truly "cold. M&p shield slide release upgrade today. One area in which the P365 is a hands-down winner (again, apologies for the comparison but I feel the M&P Shield Plus and the Sig P365 are fishing the same pond) is the slide release. I have always gone over hand to rack the slide for a reload, because that's the only way for the shield 9mm to chamber a round. CHP just now went to polymer framed pistols!

This was partially for my own education and partially to see what this gun was capable of. So i dont want to retrain my body to pull the slide just for this one gun (shield). Welcome to the forum. It is still stiff, but now it is manageable with one thumb. Though I might sound a little tepid on it, as I told you I would in the beginning, I've been totally honest. It still provides plenty of purchase – in fact I've noticed no degradation there whatsoever – but it is intended to be more comfortable for carry. First, the narrow mouth of the magazine is a boon to swift reloading. They provide just enough force to allow you to cycle the slide while not being so aggressive that they hurt your hands. 1st I would say don't be absolute in your weapon manipulation.

Quality is truly high end from start to finish. It's still not a great, beautiful firearm, but it looks better than the older versions. Considering my previous issues with the RDO when firing one-handed I didn't expect to do well on this drill, but I did. I actually have two Shields and one is a little easier than the other. The ergonomics of a firearm are often misunderstood.
There's a reason the Shield is such a wildly... As I've mentioned with other guns in this test, they are not my preferred type of sight.
