A hot wire to the radio would be just the ticket. For these reasons, I have made my gonag switched. If the temps are above 40 degrees, and/or if the truck is driven daily, I don't have an issue. Keyless ignition with chime going off as door opened. I pulled the fuse to stop it for now. Make sure you have your brake fluid full first. Just finished my interloc replacement. I have the same issue with my truck --- I Park, shift into Park, Turn Engine Off, Remove Key from the ignition, Open Door to get out and the blasted Alarm/buzzer is going off --- YES, I am trying to get out of my Truck!! I don't have an answer I'm trying to see what's wrong with it I want someone to give me an answer because it Chimes when I get out of my car and the car is in park but it still Chimes when I take the key out of the ignition. I switched it back to automatic and the chime stopped. Will let you know if the drain is gone too. Key in ignition chime won't stop and shop. The other issue, which may be tied to the above issue: the key in chime started going off, as of recent. Take the "radio" side of the red wire and connect it to the center terminal of the switch. 1997 B2300 reg cab 2. The truck has behaved this way for the past two plus years. Does it go off when you drive it or does it still go off when the car is running and the door is closed? 0 V6 Vulcan; 4x4 Automatic.
If they metal contact on the plug is allowed to ground itself on the lock cylinder then the chime will still function. What am I supposed to do? I have the same problem. Hi JJ, I attached the system description which gives a pretty detailed account of why this chime goes off. Door chime removal with keyed ignition. I read the answers here and elsewhere to the problem. So I removed the steering column trim, and popped out the cylinder, then put it in a vice in the shop and took the snap ring off to remove the cover. I am postulating that the bad ignition switch had an internal failure causing both the chime and drain. The key is out of the ignition, the car is in park, and the lights are off. If I pull the key out and put it back in (even a half inch) the chime starts.

The chime has been annoying me for weeks. When I turn off the car, I just remove the sholder belt from the clip and retract it... 3L 5-speed stick w/OD. The chime still goes off when the vehicle is started, so I am now wondering if something is shorting the whole thing out. Basiclly everything is reversed in that I mean when you car is off and the sholder belt is attached, the chime goes off, when the car is running and the sholder belt is attached and the drivers door is opened the chime does not go off? Now with the key out and door open the chimes won't quit. Key in ignition chime won't stop and stop. This setup allows you to switch the radio between normal operation (ignition on) and manual (on anytime). I make myself look like a moron way too easily. Headlights, door open, etc. ) One section of the copper contacts were a bit burnt.
For reference, here's the blue plug. Looks like the ignition switch was also the battery drain. Could you send the pics to me as well? Only the parking lights remain lit. I will do this soon ^^^.
Any ideas as to the fix? Images (Click to enlarge). I thought playing the radio without the key would be kinda handy. Keeps the chime from going off when I open the door. Is only an issue when the temps drop, and the truck sits. I've read the threads about disabling the ignition chime but it seems it takes out the chime for everything. Scratching my head here. You can pull the inside of the cylinder out just a bit (not too much, you don't want the tumblers to come shooting out) and then push the cam in and it will pop right out. Register and never see these ads again. When I turn the key backwards the chime starts and won't shut off unless I turn the key forward, but that powers up all the systems and slowly drains my battery. I am not sure but I think the door ajar only happens if the keys are in the ignition. Unplug it and it should deactivate any key-related chimes.
Yes I have read others with this problem and no solutions listed. Thanks for any help. Take the "truck" side of the red wire and run it to one of the outer terminals of a SPDT switch. Thas how i got rid of mine it got annoying so i threw it across the street and havent seen it since. Your battery was probably drained down from it chimming all night it just didnt have enought juice to start the car but enough to keep the chime going. But some quick thinking and my bently manual, I hard wired it.

I never had a problem with the normal valve stems. Once the vehicle stops, MAGNUM+ beads fall to the bottom of the tire, ready to pick up where they left off the next time the vehicle moves. The out of balance vibration will cause the beads to migrate within the tire, fixing it constantly, every time you ride!
