The entire vibe at the marina is amazing and the views and beauty of the Hudson Valley from the marina is simply outstanding. We highly recommend Half Moon Bay Marina as a wonderful stop on the Hudson River. We would definitely come back - enjoyed our night there. We enjoyed our two week stay here so much this summer that we decided to purchase one of the docks to use as well as rent out while we are out cruising the sound. Expensive for what you get. Wonderful marina, Steve and his crew were very friendly and helpful definitely would recommend this place. Helpful, friendly, organized and very communicative. We then rented a car and visited West Point and hiked up to the top of Bear Mountain.
We went to the Croton gorge dam on his recommendation - not to be missed. Short quarter mile walk to restaurants and and beautiful walkways to the swimming beach adjacent to the marina. Steve and the crew at Half Moon Bay Marina go above and beyond the call. Half Moon Bay Marina is a hidden gem on the Hudson River. It has 2 heated pools, 2 clubhouses, 2 tennis courts, gym and sauna and jitney to/from the train station, and an adjacent 173-slip marina. The marina, which is situated inside a large horseshoe shaped cove, is well protected by an incredibly effective attenuation sea wall, making it the ultimate safe harbor from hurricanes. A good alternative to NYC rates, and does have good access. Condo association does not allow boaters to use pool. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Half Moon Marina. This is the marina on the Hudson for you if you enjoy watching spectacular sunsets from your boat. Second time stopping at Half Moon Bay. I stayed in close touch with him about our arrival time as he requested. Staff is excellent, area is perfect for walks with our three dogs and lots of places to explore and provision. Half Moon Bay is the nicest marina on the Hudson, with deep water, wide full length finger slips and a very quiet, family atmosphere. Looking forward to returning. Had a fantastic dinner at the seafood restaurant, Ocean House and the Tavern next door is awesome too. We rented inexpensive bikes from the Pedego bike shop in town and toured the awesome Croton Dam. While staying at our Hudson River marina, easily and quickly visit New York City via the Metro-North/ Amtrak station located right next to the Marina. One addition this trip was that we needed to pump out. We took his word and stayed there 3 days. Many are well within a block or two and are an easy walk or bike ride.
WiFi is very strong here. Dockmaster Steve was a pleasure. There is a lovely bike/walking trail right next to the marina. You won't find a better background view at any other marina in NY, not even in Fire Island. Over 20, 000 gallons of contaminated fluid was removed from the excavations, transported, and disposed off-site at properly licensed facilities. The facilities are really nice and local restaurants are excellent and in walking distance. Good news: floating dock behind a partial breakwater. Easy in and out of the slip. Close to a Shoprite store and many restaurants! Steve's Asst Doug provided us with an amazing digital welcome package full of great restaurants to walk to. Half Moon Bay Marina also got us a half off Enterprise Rental Car to tour West Point and the Culinary Institute. We enjoyed our stay at Half Moon Bay Marina.

Steve immediately provided a new slip assignment when I reiterated that we are single screw no thruster and had requested an easy in, easy out during reservation. The facilities were very nice. They under-deliver and overstate the quality of the facility and amenities. To be honest, this was one of the best marinas we have been to. Or, many choices in town in an easy walk. Sea wall is quite substantial as well. Great place to stay.
Bad news: No fuel, aging docks, overworked and/or disorganized staff…. Newly Renovated, Clean and Modern Restroom Facilities. They need to work more at staying ahead of the geese poop. There is a small pedestrian tunnel underneath the tracks north of the marina which makes it easy to get to stores and restaurants. The seawall works pretty well except in very strong winds.
