Large parts typically require larger media, and vice versa. I think and experience easier sizing with very polished handgun brass. Longer for more polishing if you need. I use the Zilla brand of ground walnut you can get at Petsmart for something like ten bucks for ten pounds. Corn cob is slightly harder than treated walnut shell media with a hardness of 4.
