I love the heavier tracks on this album, much more than the lighter tracks. The softer start and feel to one more day was a pleasant surprise, although it felt a little out of place between golden and doublespeak, which instantly went back to the heavier side. However it lends some real weight to the end of an album that seems to have been focused on the guilt and sorrow they've been through together, while also delivering a positive message at the same time. Golden is one of those songs that doesn't leave a huge impression musically, and it's unfortunate that it has to follow a banger like Daggers. With an opening riff that hits like a freight train, a crushing breakdown and a guest appearance from rapper ZERO 9:36 that lends a welcome edge. It's invigorating and half the time though they are the foundation of a good song, do not get enough credit. Having already released the first half of the album as various singles, the songs weren't anything new or surprising but nevertheless i enjoyed listening to them in the order of the track listing, and as i already liked these songs it was good to know i'd at least like half the album from the get go.
