We had so much fun with this curriculum! Before I begin, please remember that no matter what curriculum you chose, remember your teacher's manual does not know your kids like you do! The next year we used MFW Adventures - like I said, life was good. TEACHER'S MANUAL IS NOT GOD. I have taught MFW K and 1st twice each, Adventures, ECC, CTG, and will be doing RTR next year. MFW has been doable for us. It worked well for him. We have been very pleased so far. There is even a hymn study scheduled for a later year.

I know MFW is an answer to prayer for my family. If you like Abeka overall, but it is way too intense for your homeschool, MFW is a great alternative. If you read MFW reviews you will hear about how the curriculum has helped to mold Godly character, how Christ focused it is. It's been just enough. It was repetitive and it didn't seem like he was retaining much. I'm okay sharing negative things with my children if there is a redemptive quality to it or because that is the truth in this world and our hope is ultimately Jesus. I really do believe that it was a Godsend for our family!
The next year we switched to MFW and loved it. They expect each day of a program to be like a full buffet meal to be eaten in full. Cons of MFW: - Doesn't include readers ( I just used my SL readers - easy peasy). Easy to double up days if I get behind. Other people might do it more sophisticated than that. I find MANY SL books on this list and can just pull them off my shelf. Metrodcdoula~ I was able to get my hands on a SL K instructor's guide and I must say, it seemed a tad intimidating. The living books provided are perfect for their age.
