I just want to know if I need a new unit before I pull the steering wheel apart to check the connections. Either way, the switch lighting is on a different power source coming out of the switch pack. I understand your concern for safety, but i think it's even safer to tell people how to do it properly, than to let them guess or a haynes manual. Steering wheel radio controls, horn not working. The only way that you can figure that out is to get yourself a power tracer and then separate out the power wire and run the probe along the power wire. I solved my problem!!! The only uncommon hand tool you will need is a steering wheel puller. Location: Portland, Oregon. Trans pushed back and hit crossmember thats right under the Air bag ECU. The clock spring is what transfers signal from the steering wheel to the column through a ribbon cable wrapped inside to allow the wheel to turn while still having connectivity. You can also see in the second picture the same connector on PCB (this picture is for the left module and yes, I know that the PCB doesn't resemble with the one I sent you in the first post, but don't worry, the module has actually two PCBs linked together by another ribbon, as you can see on the third picture - which is for the right side but the left side is almost the same - but with few electronics). Not only was the airbag hollow, but the clockspring was missing and the bulb was pulled from the dash. Welcome to the forum. The only other potential is that you have a broken wire between the module and the switch assembly. As you can see from the attached picture, the yellow button (corresponding to the wheel) seems tougher than the white one (corresponding to the key next to the wheel).
