'Flushed Away' does features very few but clever references to another Aardman masterpiece, 'Wallace & Gromit' those who love the cheese loving duo, do your best to seek them out. It's not completely a waste of time, but it's forgettable enough not to be an essential watch. Here they play soccer and not football. What about The Toad?

The movie has a strong moral worldview extolling friendship and commitment. Not a huge box office hit, but an A+ rental. Of course there are a lot of reverences to other movies (James Bond, Finding Nemo and even Terminator 2) but those moments don't play a mayor part in the movie. But she's being pursued by a couple of gangster rats named Spike (Andy Serkis) and Whitey (Bill Nighy), who want a ruby that she may have stolen from their boss—a pompous, over-dramatic amphibian who is obsessed with the monarchy, and who is called, simply, The Toad (Ian McKellen).
