While sometimes I feel like that advice to not talk about your goals is well-intended, I also think it keeps the shame hidden, instead of giving it the light of day, which of course, then makes it real. They try to justify the money goal by explaining away how that money will be spent or explaining away about how that money will be donated, given away, or anything like that. Maybe this is a fake out. The other one is to feel shame about the achievement as if you are undeserving and that you shouldn't be given the freedoms, the money, or the luxury that is being bestowed upon you because you have achieved your dream. It's not that we've done something wrong. They are holding out for the perfect job, the perfect time, the perfect situation, or their body to feel perfect before going after their goal. They recognize that there's work worth doing, then they're like, "D*mn, I don't know if I want to do that. "
