I replaced my bosch UEGO sensor with a NTK sensor. Any idea what the problem could be? My friend did see a small rip in that plastic on the end but inspected the wires and didnt see any that were actually shorted. Because i was noticing when i let off the throttle that it reads like 15 and stuff and doesnt run out like you guys said it would. So i installed my AEM UEGO wideband today.. and well lets just say im really not happy with the results... i knew i had a miss but i was hoping it was a wire/plug related thing.... but instead i think it might be lean miss... my idle AFRs are so lean to were the wideband cant read them (18+:1). And, to Imo000's point, so far this only testing at idle on stands in my garage, but if the numbers are right, doesn't it show an issue of some type, whether lean idle causes real damage or not? Outside temp were in the 94ish with heat index of 110.. Dont know if that effect the gauge reading or not.. Its just very strange.. Was initially reading mostly 14. Installing this AFR meter is the perfect example of "Be careful what questions you ask, you may not get the answer you expect ". New sensor resolved this. This may have something to do with the AIR system putting air into the exhaust manifolds when it shouldn't. Wiring all looks good.
