I have a stock 289 with a Edlebrock Performer manifold and an Edlebrock 4 bbl 600cfm carb. I am running a 323 GTX pcv valve on the intake side. Why yes, I am old school, so what? With those heads i had to use a set of roller rockers but they didn't clear the baffles on the inside of the valve covers. The comments Tom made about excessive blow-by is correct and makes the oil breather situation worse, but even with a fresh engine like yours, a Tripower valve cover with a stack or the "rag solution" is needed.
