After reading though, some people say the water base stuff eats the paint up in the tank and will cause it to rust through pretty quick.. also tough on aluminum parts.. I have 4 small parts washer tanks that I use for storage because it takes about a month or so for the pumps to give out. Hose could be a little longer so I can put the liquid right where I need it but for now it works. Has this happened to anyone? I have one of those Chinese (in my case I think it's actually from Taiwan, as mine is from the middle 80s) parts washers. So I gathered a shop that sells Harbor Freight Tools 2 Piece Parts Washer Brush Set and compare prices to. The biggest problem I can see is, they use plastic motor housings and fittings. My welder and I bent up some heavy gauge scrap diamond plate and welded expanded steel mesh for a lower shelf. I did a quick look years ago and forgot what I found back then. Filter (Fuel & Oil). After some research, I modified my parts washer with stronger legs, castors, more height from the floor, a drying rack, in line filtration and a flow through brush. It is black, but is the same girl as the HF model in a different dress. Is the water stuff fine and not going to rust my tank out like some people say? Location: Vic, Australia.
