My high school was made up of mostly Black students, with a minority of white students. Ace of Spades is by far the best one. This review is for: everyone. I felt like the ending wrapped things up much too quickly and I wanted to know more about how all of that took place. By the time readers get to the big reveals, the ultimate purpose of the book becomes shocking. Apart from main characters all the other characters were perfectly crafted as a piece of puzzls that's fits perfectly in the story and give audience a perfect outcome. The writing was great! This probably will not be a popular opinion, but sometimes simpler solutions to mysteries are more effective. The book is addictive and as a fan of horror films, I was often legitimately scared for both Devon and Chi when it was revealed that Niveus Private Academy has a specific agenda for the two Black students they deign to admit every decade.

I think that as a reader it would have been easy to assume that the two would get along and effectively work together to figure out who was revealing all of the information about their personal lives; however, I liked that the author didn't make it that easy.

Knowing that Aces threatened all of this and more, putting both their personal lives and academic futures on the line, I was completely invested in the outcome of events (and that Chiamaka and Devon would get their happy ending). I did like the epilogue, but I still had a lot more questions than we were given answers to. WHAT IN THE HOLY FUCKERY DID I JUST READ???!!!!! Instead, he focuses on developing his musical skills.
