She didn't let those two titles define her as a person. And it's like "he's one of us, " but deep down inside, everyone knew he is one of the family, but yet at the same time he is something else. By the time William's cancer diagnosis is revealed and he and Randall road trip to his hometown of Memphis to lay him to rest, the character is no longer a plot device for Randall's growth, he's become one of the most fascinating fathers in television history.
