I just liked this book (this one was a lot of excerpts from before it went bonkers, and a lot of filling in the gaps of those entries, expounding on them, for the book), and his other one. I have a couple of comic projects in the works that haven't been announced yet, but other than that, I've been working on the very early stages of a movie script. This is ultimately a good book for people who struggle with their creative and work lives, who give and give only to feel like the universe just doesn't care. I really did find it difficult with the feelings, though - I don't know what I'd expected, but I finished up feeling like I really ought to take Wheaton out for a pint to cheer him up, whilst thinking that that's more than likely the last thing he'd want.

In terms of skills, don't be afraid to keep building your basic foundations. I do like seeing if people who can share my idea, and have actually drawn it. Harmony Becker was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. I just like geeky people. I've been reading comics for most of my life, so it's a medium that I've always loved and been drawn to. Curious experience; I'd like to read more from him, and will probably spend a good few quiet afternoons trawling the backpages of his blog sometime. I periodically look at my blog statistics, more out of idle curiosity than anything else. You learn by making work that you don't like. There are the "I have a family" stories that showed a depth of feeling and humanity not normally found in geeky books. What more can you require of the man for him to make a memoir book? That makes it interesting to everyone. For me, the most interesting part of this book was watching the blog entries (copied directly from his website) evolve from the typical new-blogger disorganization to the entertaining, self-contained stories that he still posts on a regular basis. What would you say attracted you to the medium in the first place? I love young adult fiction. I started working on a deadline when I joined my high school newspaper staff as a cartoonist and I haven't really stopped since. I have a couple unannounced projects that I am very excited to share more about soon. Not what I was expecting-- this is a re-hash of many articles from his website, basically. Related to IN LIMBO, I do see myself exhibiting similar patterns of hopelessness but I definitely improved a long way!
Nothing is more annoying than people getting on their writerly high horse. Being a freelance illustrator and/or artist is a lonely practice, so to have people who you genuinely care about vastly improves the experience. You'll become a much better comics storyteller and a much better collaborator the more you do this. The possibilities are endless! You've heard about people being crazy famous. But it's really much more than that. Not in a fangirl way at a convention, but, for like coffee or something. I love learning languages, dancing, and music. Intrigued, I took a look at the entry, and my blog post about the Visual Studio 2008 launch date was listed as a reference. I don't think you can teach yourself how to draw comics without also learning a whole lot about how to write them.
