But when she finds out Orion Lake is alive, El goes back to him, has sex with him, and then turns around and has sex with Liesel again. Is this one premise supposed to span across the entire series? I deeply appreciated the outstanding work that Novik put into El, and I also really enjoyed the supporting cast who were featured here as well. That said, this book was just interesting enough that I am kind of curious to see what Novik does with El next, and also what will happen after she's performed her penance and run the sequel through the appropriate panel of "sensitivity readers. Here, Novik does a good job at portraying how isolating sexual trauma can be. When she doesn't fawn over him or act the way that all of the other students did when he saved them, he is confused and unsure what is going on with her. The Last Graduate picks up within seconds of this point and wastes no time getting readers back into the action. But I'd get tired eventually, I'd have to give up. Orion lake a deadly education full.
