That's pretty pricey but the desire of this Cheshire Cat's smile is blinding. Palate: The palate opens sweet and viscous with caramel and faint corn notes before earthy black pepper spice, a touch of dark stonefruit, citrus peel, and baking spices emerge. It's warm, has a sweet spiciness to it, and lingers for just the right amount of time. I would certainly consider buying further releases from Smoke Wagon after tasting this. They are spot on motifs right out of the old Wild West! If the company can continue sourcing quality barrels and maintain their current style of blending, and maintain their rapid fanbase, then there could be a disruption in the market. When I first tasted this it instantly reminded me of Four Roses bourbon at barrel proof with lots of floral and dried red fruit notes mixed in with deep maple syrup, rye spice, and barrel char notes.
