It is a hilarious comedy with a serious theme of modern gender politics. Notably, Taylor Kinney, who plays Kate's brother Phil, brings real charm to his budding relationship with Carly. Field discovered the power of acting in seventh grade. But I nevertheless found this rather trashy book a very entertaining read and I enjoyed watching the developing friendship among the women and their personal growth after their divorces.
