The Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District held its annual poster contest for students in 3rd through 6th grade in Jackson County. Lenoir County is one of 12 southeastern counties in Area 6. Myles Alexander, a fourth-grader at Mariam Boyd Elementary, earned second place honors in his grade level. I want to congratulate all the students who represented us so well at every level of these competitions, and I want to thank the teachers who inspired them to such excellence.
