" Dance of Thieves also had a couple of recurring elements, two of which made me fall in even more in love with Kazi and Jase as a couple. He's 19 and he's the new Patrei, his family means everything to him and even if the Ballegers are a people of thieves that don't follow the other kingdoms's laws, he's a decent person who can clearly see the difference between good and bad. It would've benefitted being edited down a lot. I didn't want to know. The plot was like ALL over the place. The characters were so easy to relate to, and the plot was fantastic. But I'm used to it by now since lack of communication always seems to be an issue with the characters of the Remnant Chronicles universe considering how I've had this same problem before with Lia, Rafe, and the rest of the gang. One soldier is 17-year-old Kazi, formerly "an invisible street rat" of Venda, who honed her consummate thieving skills after her mother was kidnapped into (probable) sex slavery.

I don't think I could be more disappointed to say that I didn't really enjoy this novel and am giving it 2. • Just random: AHHHH IT WAS SO GOOD TO MEET LIA AND RAFE AGAIN 🥹. I think about what they WANT and what they NEED which are two different things. Unfortunately their romance felt a bit insta-lovey, however I still enjoyed the back and forth between them and the author throws a good amount of conflict and their trust gradually grows authentically. Dance of Thieves stole a cliche plot and transformed it into something amazing –. I think about the end of the story and where I think they are going, and then I write! There would be moments that would hook me but then the story would lapse into chapters of filler that didn't need to be there and it took away from the story as a whole.

They begin badly, with Kazi threatening to cut Jase's throat, but soon move past that moment as being kidnapped by labor hunters forces them to work together. Our protagonist, Kazi, has been sent by the one and only queen of Venda, Lia (still one of the best ya protagonists out there) to find General Illarium, who we already know (he's the one who betrayed Lia's family and caused the death of her father and brother). 🆗 YOU CAN DEFINITELY read this without first reading The Remnant Chronicles but just know there are a lot of references and definitely spoilers for the original series. Kazi goes to the Hell's Mouth, which is controlled by the Ballenger family, to hunt one of the masterminds of TRC's big plot, but what happens after spirals far beyond the reaches of Lia's story. An all-around great read that I highly recommend! I finished the entire series in less than a week.. Audiobook, from my library. Hey there, book lover.
